Simulations

Internal and external factors can quickly create a crisis situation that could impact a business’s operations and reputation. LEXi brings wide-ranging expertise in crafting and delivering immersive incident simulations geared towards offering professional development opportunities specific to managing a crisis.

We create industry specific and topic focused crisis simulations in a controlled environment, ensuring organisations reach their learning objectives. Creating believable simulations is central to establishing the optimum learning experience. At LEXi, our development approach begins with a collaborative effort to define the organisation’s needs and goals. We ensure we gain a deep understanding of their culture and climate by consulting stakeholders to discover key insights that will inform our approach. This knowledge enables us to design bespoke simulations that closely mirror real-life scenarios that are both highly-impactful and relevant to the learner audience. These tailored simulations are deployed with authenticity at the forefront and are iterated based on feedback. Our solutions are continuously refined in this way to deliver lasting value and impactful learning.

Typically, sessions take place over a day or half a day, though can be longer, allowing participants to become fully immersed in the experience. Each simulation usually spans a series of events and interactions unfolding over time. This structure allows each participant to focus on the implications of actions not just in the present, but also in future contexts. They are encouraged to consider the entire process and their contributions.

Disruptive Incidents

The COVID-19 pandemic taught us to “expect the unexpected” and it can be difficult to outline all the possible crisis situations a business might face. As such, some clients focus on crisis management and business continuity in the face of any disruptive incident. Our Actor Facilitators can also engage remotely to coach or test client call centres during a simulated crisis and incorporate a variety of drama-based learning techniques to enhance the experience.

  • Workplace accidents
  • Cyber attacks
  • Natural disasters
  • Legal action
  • Media incidents
  • Office closures
  • Layoffs and reductions in force
  • Product recall

Disaster and Continuity Planning

Businesses can also use simulations and crisis management exercises to test an existing disaster and continuity plan or use these methods during the development of new plans. Simulation can be an effective method to practise response scenarios – testing the practical applications of the plans and ensuring participants are prepared to handle the critical communication response.
